Life of Pi
a title sequence for the MOVIE LIFE OF PI

Overview
Objective:
Design a new title sequence for a film of my choice.
Approach:
I selected Life of Pi as the subject for this project. Through a blend of patterns, colors, and illustrative elements, I created scenes that reflect both key moments from the film and a deeper interpretation of how spirituality manifests in the physical world. Each frame serves as a visual metaphor, capturing the film’s essence beyond its narrative.

Storyboards
A storyboard is a visual roadmap that outlines the key scenes and shots of a film, animation, or other visual narrative.
I start with sketch storyboards to nail down the scenes, characters and flow of the script.

Style-frames
Style frames are visual snapshots that represent the intended look and feel of the final animation.
For this project, I explored two distinct approaches. Style A emphasizes an oil painting aesthetic, rich in texture. Style B takes a minimalist direction, using clean shapes and subtle lighting to convey the narrative with clarity and simplicity.

Keyframes
Life of Pi revolves around a teenage Indian boy, Pi, who becomes lost at sea after a shipwreck. Pi finds himself struggling for survival against the torrential ocean with his only companion, a Bengal tiger. Life of Pi encompasses Martel's perspectives of how spirituality is perceived in the physical world.
